The federation’s season results give 35 hours. Cummins’s own account explains that her return split included her time ashore in France. The published accounts disagree on the final clock reading.

In July 2018 Cummins swam twice around Manhattan. New York Open Water lists the swimmer from County Cork in third place at the 40 Bridges event, with a combined time of 21 hours 2 minutes 20 seconds.
