Biography

Rohan Dattatrey More is an Indian marathon swimmer from Pune whose international crossings developed alongside a career in information technology. In an extended original interview, he described learning to swim as a young child, studying engineering in Pune and later working in Abu Dhabi. Seeing a video about the English Channel revived an ambition that had stayed with him since his early open-water experiences.

More prepared for his 2014 Channel swim while balancing work and training, then travelled to Dover to acclimatise and complete his qualifying swim. His recollection dates departure to 22:00 on 25 July. The Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation lists the swim on 26 July with Neil Streeter aboard Suva and an elapsed time of 13:23:00. That primary result also agrees with the duration in his interview.

Catalina followed in September 2014, with the federation preserving his time as 10:17:40. He added Molokai that October and later completed the Triple Crown. His Cook Strait crossing on 9 February 2018 finished his Oceans Seven campaign; New Zealand’s recognised list records 8:37:54 from North Island to South Island. The International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame lists More as an Indian Honor Swimmer in its class of 2018. His account presents a sustained progression built around preparation, acclimatisation and support from his crew.
