About Westport TC
Westport Triathlon Club has its roots in PulseWest, established under Pulse Triathlon Club in 2010. A public meeting at Rice College in November 2011 brought local athletes together, and the Westport group subsequently became an independent club affiliated to Triathlon Ireland. It is based in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland.
Pool training takes place at Westport Leisure Park, while track sessions use Westport Sports Complex. The programme separates endurance and speed work and includes cycling groups for different abilities. Seasonal open-water sessions use specified local locations and are restricted to members under the club’s safety arrangements.
The club welcomes people who want to train in just one discipline as well as triathletes. Its membership page explains trial sessions and joining through Triathlon Ireland; newcomers should confirm which sessions are suitable before attending. Social events, training camps and the club’s Westport Triathlon connect the training groups with a wider local sporting community.
