About Welshpool Athletics Club
Welshpool Athletics Club provides track-and-field and cross-country activity in Welshpool, Powys, Wales. In a June 2024 launch announcement, Adele Nicoll described the work behind establishing regular sessions after earlier holiday camps under her academy's name. The announcement distinguished younger children's academy activity from registered club participation, rather than treating them as one identical programme.
The current Welsh Athletics directory lists Tuesday evening training, using Welshpool High School on Salop Road in summer and the Freedom Leisure Centre's astro-turf area in winter. These are seasonal training venues, not a single year-round clubhouse. Parents and prospective athletes should confirm the age group, available places and current arrangements through the club's membership email.
Nicoll is listed as membership secretary, while her Welsh Athletics athlete biography identifies her competitive club as Birchfield Harriers. Her involvement in developing Welshpool's community club should therefore not be confused with a claim that she currently competes for it. The directory also names separate welfare officers and links to the club's academy-branded Facebook page.
