About San Domenico RC
San Domenico RC has been part of Cardiff’s running scene since around 1984. Based around Penylan Recreation Ground in Wales’s capital, its routes extend through Roath, Heath, Cathays and Cyncoed, with road, trail and cross-country running all represented.
Tuesday sessions rotate through hills, speed work and club handicaps at different locations. Thursday social runs cover 5K and 10K from Penylan Community Centre, with Sunday running and brunch options from the same base. Members also take part in the Gwent League, Welsh Castles Relays and Cosmeston Relays.
The club welcomes runners to try sessions before deciding whether to join and provides an online membership form. Its multisport section is affiliated to Welsh Triathlon, with members competing from sprint to long-distance events. Check the latest Tuesday schedule and contact the club before a first visit.
