About North Wales Road Runners
North Wales Road Runners is based in Llandudno, Wales, and celebrated its fortieth anniversary in 2023. Its programme brings together social runners and competitors for road races, cross-country and other endurance events. Journalist and masters runner Don Hale has chronicled much of the club’s activity on its website.
Tuesday training normally starts at Ysgol John Bright on Maesdu Road, with runs of roughly four to seven miles and tail runners supporting the group. Meeting places can change, so the club asks runners to check its current notices. The membership programme also includes a summer promenade relay, a Christmas handicap and a club championship organised by ability group.
The club’s history is closely connected with the Nick Beer 10K around the Great Orme. After years of club organisation, management passed to Always Aim High Events from 2023, with the event continuing to support the club and local charities.
