About Meirionnydd Running Club
Meirionnydd Running Club was founded in Dolgellau, Gwynedd, Wales, in 2006. Its members now come from Dolgellau, Bala, Bangor and the wider southern Eryri area. Road runners, fell runners and people who mainly want company on a social outing share the club, with junior membership from age 11.
The training offer includes social runs around Dolgellau and Bala, speed work in Dolgellau and track sessions in Bangor. Routes make use of local lanes, forests, beaches and mountains. Members also take part in cross-country, relays and road races, while talks, trips, beach runs and post-run gatherings provide a less competitive side to club life.
In 2025, Meirionnydd hosted the UKA Hill and Fell Relay Championship at Penantigi Isaf near Dinas Mawddwy and was named Welsh Athletics Off-Track Club of the Year.
