About Glamorgan Valleys Schools District
Glamorgan Valleys Schools District represents schools across Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Its Welsh Athletics entry lists track and field and cross-country, with grey vests and burgundy side panels. This regional school team should not be confused with a public club offering weekly membership sessions.
The district participates in the school-to-national championship structure. Aberdare featured in its published 2026 qualifying programme, with separate age-group meetings and school-team Cup and Plate rounds. These were competition arrangements for that season, not a current weekly training timetable.
Parents and pupils should approach their school or the published schools contact for entry and selection guidance. The directory supplies a regional identity rather than a confirmed clubhouse. The next event's venue and eligibility should therefore be checked directly before making travel plans.
