About Cybi Striders
Cybi Striders began in Holyhead, North Wales, in February 1986. Twelve people attended the first meeting, initially choosing the name Caergybi Striders before adopting Cybi Striders later that month. The club organised its first ten-mile race in 1987. After a difficult period, members voted against closing the club in 2007 and a new committee rebuilt participation. Its logo now includes both Anglesey and Holy Island, reflecting a reach beyond Holyhead.
Monday coached sessions take place at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni, while Wednesday group runs rotate through locations including Holyhead, Llangefni and Menai Bridge. Road, trail and cross-country running all feature in the club's activities. Groups cater for different paces, and newcomers are encouraged to ask about a suitable outing. Current locations are posted through the club's member and social channels. Public secretary and membership emails provide direct enquiry routes; the old Mill Road headquarters in the history is not a current training address.
