About Betsi Runaways

Betsi Runaways is a volunteer-run running and fitness club serving Bangor and nearby communities in North Wales. Members range from beginners to experienced endurance and multisport participants. Racing is optional: the club also welcomes people who simply want company, regular exercise and local routes around Bangor, Menai Bridge and Llanfairpwll.

Wednesday evening is the main published session. Winter meetings use the car park next to Friars School in Bangor; summer training moves to locations such as the Glyn Rhonwy quarries entrance near Llanberis or Moelyci. Routes are adjusted to the group, and changes are shared through Facebook and WhatsApp. The website marks its regular Sunday track session as not currently taking place, despite an older directory timetable still listing Sundays.

Newcomers can try three sessions free and are asked to contact the club before attending. Membership includes options for competitive, junior and social or second-claim runners.
