About Amman Valley Harriers
Amman Valley Harriers was established in August 1983 and is based in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. Also known as Clwb Rhedeg Dyffryn Aman, it has senior and masters runners as well as a junior section. Its programme makes use of the area's hills, town routes and Dinefwr Park, with intervals at local tracks providing a different kind of challenge.
Senior meeting points change with the session and season: they include Dinefwr Bowls Centre, Amman Valley Leisure Centre and Tregib. Members book through Spond, and newcomers are asked to contact the secretary before a trial so someone can welcome them. Juniors begin from age seven, with an accompanying adult required at that age, and use outdoor tracks or Tregib's indoor facilities in winter. The club therefore has several training locations, not one combined rugby-and-bowls-club address.
