About Trentham RC
Trentham Running Club was formed in 1989 after a meeting at the former Trentham Rugby Club attracted around sixty people. Based in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, England, it developed through local road and cross-country competition, with Don Shelley as its first president and Dave Filmer as chairman.
The club history records a men's North Staffordshire cross-country league victory in 1995 and veteran marathon team successes around the turn of the millennium. In 2019 the club moved to Trentham Academy, giving its regular training a different base from its earlier premises.
Tuesday and Thursday sessions are advertised at the academy on Allerton Road, with informal Sunday road and trail outings as well. Social activities include Chip Time Tuesday. Prospective runners can use the public club email to check the current session plan and arrange an introduction before turning up.
