About Trawden Athletic Club
Trawden Athletic Club serves runners around Colne, Trawden and Pendle in Lancashire, England. Gerry McCabe founded it as Trawden Celtic Athletic Club in 1993 so that the local Grand Prix races could obtain permits. The shorter Trawden Athletic Club name followed in 1999.
The club developed a junior section and took on the Holt House pavilion as a clubhouse in 2014. A Couch to 5K programme and a North West club award followed in 2015. Its activities now include road, trail, fell and cross-country running, with separate information for senior and junior members.
Coached sessions and meeting arrangements are published in the training diary. Newcomers can ask about a taster session before joining, while the membership secretary and junior manager provide distinct enquiry routes. The club also organises local races, including the Trawden 7 and Boulsworth events.
