About Teignbridge Trotters
Teignbridge Trotters grew from a 1982 meeting in Newton Abbot, Devon, England, for people preparing for the second London Marathon. Its inaugural general meeting followed in July 1984. The club developed a lasting road and off-road running programme and began staging its own races in 1985.
Monday and Wednesday evening training starts from Newton Abbot Recreational Trust. Pace groups, improver sessions and structured work give runners several ways to participate, while scheduled Couch to 5K courses provide an entry point for beginners. Newcomers can try a few sessions before joining and should check the current training diary.
The club took over the Dartmoor Discovery ultramarathon in 2011 and also organises shorter races. Its history records Dave Dunn introducing the club championship in 1991 and becoming a life member in 2014.
