About Tavistock Run Project
Tavistock Run Project brings together runners in Tavistock, Devon, England. Dave Chanter started the project in 2013 to develop running within the community. Its early training group included both unattached runners and members of other local clubs who wanted to improve.
The project became an affiliated club in October 2017 under Steve Watson's chairmanship. That is a separate milestone from the original group's formation. Its stated approach puts the needs of individual athletes ahead of membership numbers, with opportunities for runners and coaches to develop together.
The club website provides coaching material, a training plan and a downloadable joining form. Prospective members can use these to explore the club and apply, checking the current arrangements before attending. Local community links have also included kit sponsorship from Tavistock business Flapjackery.
