About Swinton Running Club
Swinton Running Club began on 18 October 1976 as Swinton Jog Fit. Brian Cooper, Eddie Cheetham and Rees Thomas were its founding organisers. The club adopted its present name in 1997 and serves adult runners around Swinton and Salford in Greater Manchester, England.
Road, trail and cross-country running are part of the club's activities. Monday sessions concentrate on speed and strength through track work at Cleavley in Eccles or hill sessions, while Wednesday runs offer routes of roughly three to seven miles. Summer outings make use of trails, with the programme changing according to conditions and the session's purpose.
