About Swaledale Runners
Swaledale Runners began in 1986 as Swaledale Road Runners. Based in Richmond, North Yorkshire, England, the club changed its name in 2014 to reflect members' expanding interest in trail, fell and ultra-distance running. Its activities now range from shorter local runs to longer challenges, with social running remaining part of club life.
Tuesday and Thursday club nights meet at the SOC premises at 17 New Road in Richmond. Sessions offer different distances and approaches, including steady road or trail outings, intervals and hills. Qualified leaders help organise the groups, and the club has also introduced monthly track sessions at Catterick.
Visitors can try a guest session before joining and are asked to be comfortable jogging about four miles. The contact form is the best way to discuss a first visit and check the week's route. Richmond is the supported training base: the older directory address in Sedgefield should not be used to find these sessions.
