About Styal Running Club
Styal Running Club began in 2006 when a group of friends brought their shared interest in running together. Based around Wilmslow and Styal in Cheshire, England, it has developed into an adult running community while retaining a social emphasis and no requirement to race.
Tuesday and Thursday evening runs meet at Wilmslow Phoenix Sports Club, with groups suited to different paces. The surrounding National Trust land and Cheshire countryside provide opportunities for off-road routes. Informal Friday outings use Lindow Common, and members also arrange Sunday runs.
Those who enjoy competition enter events from five kilometres to marathon distance and beyond, while a monthly visit to a different parkrun offers another shared outing. Membership includes guided training, social events and club awards. Newcomers are asked to email a little about their experience so the team can arrange an appropriate trial run. The Phoenix is the club's regular base, not a claim that all sessions take place there.
