About Stocksbridge Running Club
Stocksbridge Running Club was formed in May 2023 to give runners in Stocksbridge and nearby Deepcar a local club in South Yorkshire, England. Stocksbridge Park Steels Football Club helped it get started by sharing facilities and organisational support. Road and trail running are central to its activities, with members also taking part in cross-country and obstacle events.
Monday group runs explore the town's roads and footpaths, with different groups accommodating different paces. The training page lists both Bracken Moor Stadium and the Fox Valley bandstand as possible meeting points. Stocksbridge's hills are part of the experience, and winter runs require high-visibility clothing and a head torch.
Prospective members can try a session without committing to membership, but should contact the club first to discuss their running experience. The published groups involve sustained running, so this is not an automatic Couch to 5k offer. The club's maroon, gold and white identity was introduced in 2024; its contact form handles both general enquiries and interest in joining.
