About St Helens Sutton AC
St Helens Sutton AC was created in 1990 through the merger of Sutton Harriers and St Helens AC. Sutton Harriers' roots reach back to 1899, but that earlier date belongs to the predecessor rather than the merged club. The club moved to its present all-weather track at Sutton Sports Centre in 1996.
Based in St Helens, Merseyside, England, it provides track-and-field athletics alongside road running and cross-country. Young athletes, adults and masters are represented in its programme. The club's published history and membership guidance describe a community built around coaching, competition and volunteering at the track.
The joining route depends on age and available coaching capacity. Adults aged sixteen and over are directed towards Tuesday or Thursday sessions, while younger athletes normally enter through a waiting-list process unless referred. Families should contact the club before attending. The public info email is the club enquiry route; the leisure-centre telephone shown on the venue information is not presented here as a club phone.
