About St Austell Running Club

St Austell Running Club began in October 2007, when more than forty people attended its first meeting. By Christmas, the new Cornwall club had grown to around a hundred members. Its history identifies Doug Alsop as the first chairman and records involvement in the first Eden Project marathon and half marathon in 2009.

Known as STARC, the club serves St Austell, England, with social running for different levels of experience. Its published Tuesday and Thursday programme gathers at St Austell Rugby Club at Tregorrick Park, with runners meeting before the evening start. Monday activity provides a walk-and-run route for beginners.

Members also arrange informal weekend outings, and the club points newcomers towards its current announcements for details. A public enquiry email offers a way to ask about joining and the most suitable group. The club's present website gives the rugby-club meeting location as Tregorrick Road, PL26 7FH; it should not be confused with the separately listed St Austell Athletes Running Club.
