About Squirrels Running Group
Squirrels Running Group was formed in 2012 in Broughton Astley, south-west Leicestershire, England. It welcomes runners progressing from Couch to 5k through to longer-distance challenges, with qualified leaders supporting a range of experience levels. Its village base is distinct from Leicester city.
Regular Monday and Wednesday evening runs meet in the White Horse car park on Station Road. The programme also includes monthly track sessions at the Pingles in Nuneaton and an annual Couch to 5k course. Club standards give members personal goals to work towards without making racing the only reason to belong.
The group's community activities include charity fundraising, a Santa Dash and Dawdle, and social occasions celebrating members' progress. New runners are encouraged to get in touch before trying their first few sessions, so leaders can advise on a suitable group. The general enquiry and welfare addresses are published separately, making it straightforward to ask about joining or raise a concern.
