About Southampton Athletic Club

Southampton Athletic Club was created on 1 April 2010 through the merger of Team Southampton and Southampton Running Club. Based in Southampton, Hampshire, England, the present organisation continues a longer local athletics tradition rather than dating every predecessor's achievements to its own founding.

Team Southampton had itself combined Southampton City Athletic Club and Team Solent in 2004. The club's historical international-athlete account includes Todd Bennett, Donna Hartley and Roger Black among athletes associated with Southampton's earlier clubs. These are heritage associations, not statements of current membership.

The club and its Academy use Southampton Sports Centre on Thornhill Road. Volunteer coaches support younger athletes and adults, with track-and-field activity alongside road and cross-country running.
