About Skegness & District Running Club
Skegness and District Running Club began in January 2015, founded by Andy and Helena Shelton with Glenn Hillaby. Its first groups ran from the Crown Hotel in Skegness and the Nelson Butt in Spilsby, Lincolnshire, England. England Athletics affiliation followed that April, and the club subsequently expanded into Boston and Horncastle.
Weekly runs now serve all four towns. Published meeting points include the Links Hotel in Skegness, the New Life Centre in Spilsby, Horncastle's Cattle Market car park and the Fuddy Duck in Boston. Coaches and run leaders support both developing runners and members preparing for races.
The club's community activities include the free, volunteer-supported Boating Lake Run, the Bolingbroke Breaker and involvement in the Spilsby Show 10k. Membership is offered from fifteen, with optional England Athletics registration. New runners can use the public enquiry email or membership portal, checking the town and day carefully rather than assuming every session begins at the directory address.
