About Sinfin Running Club
Sinfin Running Club started in 1984 with support from Sinfin Community Council, initially meeting at Sinfin Moor Social Club in Derby, Derbyshire, England. Its history recalls national success in the Today's Runner cross-country league and identifies Pete Yeomans and Tim Bishop among its accomplished early runners.
The club now meets at The Crossbar in Chellaston Park. Wednesday evening groups cover different speeds and distances, typically including four-mile and ten-kilometre options, with shorter outings arranged for newer runners. Winter routes favour lit streets; summer running can explore canals and countryside south of Derby. Social time after training remains part of club life.
Running interests extend to fell and cross-country competition as well as road events. Newcomers are encouraged to email before their first Wednesday visit so the club can arrange suitable company. Membership choices distinguish first-claim, second-claim and social participation, and families should check the specific junior arrangements rather than assuming every adult session is suitable.
