About Sandbach Striders
Sandbach Striders formed in Sandbach, Cheshire, England, after a newspaper advertisement brought local runners together in 2003. The first formal meeting took place at the Military Arms on 1 June, when the name Sandbach Striders and Strollers was adopted. The shorter name followed, while the club retained its aim of welcoming different abilities.
The club moved from Elworth Cricket Club to Sandbach Rugby Club in May 2018. Its history also records the launch of the Crewe Déjà vu track marathon in November 2011. These milestones sit alongside a social running culture and local event participation rather than a requirement that every member race competitively.
Newcomers can try the club for a month without an obligation to join. The joining page advertises Wednesday evenings at the rugby club, with shorter-distance support available by arrangement. Email the membership role to check the next session and the appropriate group; the old Bradwall Road directory address is not retained as a training venue.
