About Ryde Harriers
Ryde Harriers was founded in 1886 in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, England. Its history records a wartime interruption followed by re-establishment in 1931, and the first Isle of Wight Marathon in 1957. The club's race-organising tradition also encompasses the Ryde 10, Brading 10K and island fell races.
The club welcomes runners from sixteen and combines local training with Hampshire road-race and cross-country competition. Its published Tuesday choices include a Sandown track session and running from Ryde Rowing Club, while Thursday outings include relaxed running, hills or fartlek. Visitors should confirm the appropriate session and arrive in time to meet the group.
Ryde Rowing Club at Appley Lane is the club's stated meeting address, but it is not the location of the Sandown track session. The official contact form provides a route for joining questions. Historic race participants are not automatically described as Harriers members: an event association alone does not establish club membership.
