About Running Colchester
Running Colchester started in May 2016 as a Facebook group created by local runners in Colchester, Essex, England. It gave people a place to exchange advice, arrange company for a run and find out what was happening locally. England Athletics affiliation followed in 2018, alongside qualified coaches and run leaders.
The club has retained that community-first approach. Its website describes free weekly outings across different parts of Colchester, with provision for varied abilities rather than one fixed group. Runners can use the community simply for conversation and support or become more involved in shared runs and races.
The website is a static resource, while the Facebook group carries active discussion. Check there for suitable outings and meeting points. Online community membership is not the same as competitive registration, and the Leisure World directory address is not a universal start.
