About Runners-Next-the-Sea
Runners-next-the-Sea began with running sessions at Alderman Peel High School in May 2014 and is based in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, England. A Wells Carnival Committee grant helped the group become an accredited club in 2018 and develop its coaching team.
Summer Monday training uses Holkham Park and the beach; winter sessions alternate between Wells and Fakenham. Members also arrange social runs, with different-paced groups accommodating a range of runners. The club began a formal Couch to 5K course in 2019 and encourages members to develop coaching and leadership skills.
Its community links include the Wells Carnival run and Holkham parkrun, where members run and volunteer. A members-only beach race began in 2017 and became an open event in 2022. Prospective runners can contact the club secretary to check the next suitable session or beginner course. The older Fakenham directory address is not a single base for this changing coastal programme.
