About Ripon Runners

Ripon Runners was founded in 1985 after local milkman Cameron Weatherburn began running with fellow enthusiasts in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England. Early members included first president Monty Munson and masters athlete Rodney Mills. From road-running roots, the club developed interests in trail, fell and ultra-distance running as well as a junior section.

The club shares a clubhouse with Ripon Rugby Club at Mallorie Park. Tuesday groups accommodate different abilities, while Thursday coaching offers more structured training. Juniors have separate arrangements, with the current introduction covering school years five to eleven. Social outings and club-organised races, including the Jolly Holly Jog and Ripon 10 Mile, bring members together beyond weekly sessions.

Prospective members can try the club before joining, but should contact the membership secretary first. The joining page requires advance contact despite a more informal invitation elsewhere on the site. Check the relevant age group, session and booking requirements before travelling. Club fees and old event notices should also be confirmed against the latest information.
