About Ribble Valley Runners
Ribble Valley Runners began in February 2021 when Craig Nicholls brought running friends together through a WhatsApp group. From those informal outings it developed into a club based at Clitheroe Cricket Club in Lancashire, England. Social running remains part of its character, alongside opportunities to train more purposefully and enter events together.
Wednesday evenings offer several groups covering roughly five to ten kilometres at different speeds. Thursday sessions concentrate on speed and fitness, with both evenings advertised for 6.45pm at the cricket club. In darker months, runners are asked to wear high-visibility clothing and bring a head or chest light.
The club championship combines road and trail races, while members also run and volunteer at Clitheroe Castle parkrun. First-time visitors should contact the club by email or through its linked Facebook page before attending. Membership is handled through the linked online joining service. The cricket club address is a training base, not evidence that every championship event or social outing starts there.
