About Polegate Plodders
Polegate Plodders was founded in 2014 by Ian Weston and Brian Winn, who wanted to share their enthusiasm for running. Based in Polegate, East Sussex, England, the club developed into an adult running community with coached sessions, parkrun outings, cross country and local races. It chose to affiliate to England Athletics in 2018.
The current training page describes a combined Wednesday evening session for different abilities, replacing the previous Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday arrangement. Coaches adapt the work for runners building confidence or seeking more challenge. Members also arrange informal, peer-supported social runs at other times.
Potential members can apply for a guest membership covering three trial sessions. The meeting instructions refer to a Costa Coffee in Polegate but are not precise enough to identify a single fixed venue, so contact the coaching team before attending. A welcoming approach does not remove the need to confirm the right session and start point.
