About Peel Road Runners
Peel Road Runners was founded in 1991 and runs on the roads, paths and trails around Tamworth, Staffordshire, England. Its membership ranges from social runners to people tackling ultras, with road, trail, fell and cross-country competition alongside the everyday club runs. A walking group was introduced in 2025.
The usual Tuesday and Thursday meeting point is the skate park in Tamworth's Castle Grounds, although structured sessions can start elsewhere. Social runs are around six miles, so newcomers are advised to be comfortable with that distance. The Tuesday walking group offers a shorter alternative.
Peel takes part in the Burton & District Summer League and winter Derby Runner cross country, and helps organise the Gate Gallop in support of St Giles Hospice. The club recommends trying at least four runs before joining. Membership and general enquiries have separate role email addresses, and the current calendar should be checked for venue changes.
