About Overton Harriers & AC
Overton Harriers & Athletic Club was formed in 1974 in Overton, Hampshire, England. Its running community includes men's, women's and junior teams, with opportunities to train socially or compete. Members take part in the Hampshire Road Race League, winter cross country and track and field, including masters competition for athletes aged over thirty-five.
Overton Recreation Centre is the club's training base. Monday outings mix local roads and trails at a social or recovery pace; Thursday sessions use intervals, hills, fartlek and club races to develop fitness. Other sessions complement these main evenings, so newcomers should confirm the programme before attending.
The club organises the Overton 5 road race and the sixteen-mile off-road Combe Gibbet event. Prospective members can arrange a few free trial sessions, meet the coaches and decide whether to join. Racing is optional, and social events are part of club life.
