About Otley AC
Otley Athletic Club began in 1984 after local runners responded to a call for a club following the 1983 Otley Half Marathon. Its history names Norman Land, Linda Land and Eric Smith among the founding members. Based in Otley, West Yorkshire, England, the club developed across road running, fell racing and cross country; its Otley 10 Mile Road Race was first held in 1985.
Tuesday and Thursday training starts from Otley Cricket Club at Cross Green, with pace groups and hill or speed sessions. Away runs explore the surrounding countryside, including winter outings by headtorch, while races, relays and club championships give members different ways to compete.
The club has separate junior and senior sections and a social programme alongside running. Prospective members should email before trying a session and check the current training groups and calendar for the appropriate meeting arrangements.
