About Newquay & Par AC

Newquay & Par Athletic Club was formed in 1984 when Newquay AC and Par AC joined together. Serving north, mid and east Cornwall, it retains two active bases rather than expecting every athlete to train in one town. Par Athletics Track is the headquarters; its former cinder surface was replaced by an all-weather track that reopened in July 2000.

Coaching covers the track and field events, with cross-country and junior sportshall extending the season through winter. Club teams take part in the South West Athletics League and Westward Cross Country League, and open meetings give athletes further chances to compete. Its roll of honour includes Olympian Jemma Simpson and several international juniors. New members should contact the Par or Newquay team about a suitable group; endurance and road-running enquiries have their own named contacts.
