About Newent Runners
Newent Runners is a community running club in Newent, Gloucestershire, England, affiliated to England Athletics. Its programme combines regular group outings, a zero-to-5K beginner course and the club's Newent 9 road race. Membership is available to people aged seventeen and over.
Wednesday is the coached session, using Newent Community School's astroturf in winter and Newent Cricket Club in summer. Other outings are informal social runs, including routes from the library area, a Dymock pub run and Sunday runs. The club makes that distinction clear rather than describing every outing as coached.
Visitors do not need to join before trying a session. Being able to cover 5K is helpful for ordinary runs, since that is generally the minimum distance; complete beginners should enquire about the separate course. Check the club's Facebook updates for routes and changes, and use the membership form when ready to join.
