About Meltham AC
Meltham Athletic Club is based at Meltham Sports and Community Centre in Meltham, West Yorkshire, England. Its routes reach neighbouring villages such as Holmfirth, Marsden, Slaithwaite and Netherthong, making the local hills and countryside an everyday part of club running.
Tuesday groups leave at staggered times to suit different paces and aim to finish together. Thursday outings are generally shorter and more relaxed. Light evenings allow more off-road running; winter routes use roads, including stretches without pavements, so the club asks runners to bring reflective clothing and a headtorch.
Newcomers are asked to attend a Tuesday session first and introduce themselves. The community centre provides showers and space to socialise afterwards. Members can race, improve fitness or contribute as volunteers; the club also organises the Meltham Tough 10K and off-road events. Its low-cost social membership is for involvement off the running course and does not cover participation in club runs.
