About Marple Runners
Marple Runners was founded in 2016 by local people who enjoyed running together in Marple, Greater Manchester, England. Its routes make use of the town's roads, hills and trails, with shorter and longer options and volunteer tail runners to keep people supported.
Club nights meet at the Railway pub near Rose Hill station on Mondays and Wednesdays, excluding bank holidays. Newcomers should email ahead so someone can welcome them. Run-walk sessions offer an alternative to continuous running, while members-only coached sessions require advance booking through RunTogether.
The club participates in cross-country, organises a 10K trail race and family fun run, and encourages members to volunteer. Its Equaliser, introduced in 2025, uses staggered starts for a 5K on the Middlewood Way. Competitive, non-competitive and second-claim memberships differ in their racing benefits; ask about the appropriate option and trial arrangements before joining.
