About Marlborough Running Club
Marlborough Running Club was founded in 1988 in Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. Road, trail and cross-country running all feature, but the surrounding downland and woods give the club much of its character. Routes reach Savernake Forest, the Marlborough Downs, Kennet Valley and Ridgeway.
Monday sessions focus on improvement, while Wednesday runs are longer and split by pace with opportunities to regroup. Marlborough Leisure Centre is the usual meeting point, although some outings start elsewhere. Winter routes require particular attention to visibility. Members also run and volunteer at Marlborough Common parkrun, including club takeovers.
Guests can try training before becoming members. The club organises the Marlborough Downs Challenge, Ridgeway Relay and Avebury 8 Nine, and asks members to help with its events; race income supports the club's low-cost participation. Contact the membership secretary about joining or the information mailbox for general questions.
