About Macclesfield Harriers & AC

Macclesfield Harriers and Athletic Club serves Macclesfield, Cheshire, England, with road running, track and field, cross-country, fell and trail sections. Volunteers coach athletes from age nine upwards, from newcomers to national-level competitors. The breadth of the programme allows members to explore several disciplines without assuming that each session suits every age or ability.

Track groups use Macclesfield Athletics Track behind the leisure centre. Road groups have different paces and distances, with some summer runs starting at Tegg's Nose and other outings using local roads and trails. Fell runs change venue from week to week, so the leisure centre is not a universal start point.

Adults can email the Try a Run contact to find a suitable group and arrange a trial. Junior applicants must contact the waiting-list team before attending; demand can mean a substantial wait, especially in younger groups. The club's joining and timetable pages describe trail sessions differently, so prospective trail runners should confirm the next outing with its leaders.
