About Lions Running Community
Lions Running Community began at Sweatshop in Chorley in 2011 and moved to the Lions in 2017. Based around Wheelton and the wider Chorley area of Lancashire, England, it offers free running sessions through RunTogether. Qualified coaches and run leaders support a programme designed to include different abilities.
Runs use the Golden Lion and Red Lion in Wheelton, Bamber Bridge and other local starts. The programme includes beginner courses, progression runs, longer outings and visits to parkrun. Trained guide runners and mental-health champions are part of the club's support network; contact the organisers to discuss individual arrangements.
The minimum age is twelve, and under-sixteens must be accompanied by an adult throughout. RunTogether bookings help leaders plan sessions and communicate changes, while optional England Athletics affiliation offers a separate membership route.
