About Leamington Cycling and Athletics Club
Leamington Cycling & Athletics Club was formed in September 1928 when the town’s cycling and athletic clubs joined together. Its athletics history reaches further back to Leamington Harriers in 1868. Edmondscote became a cinder-track venue in 1962 and gained an all-weather surface in 1986, providing a lasting home for local running, jumping and throwing.
Today the club has separate athletics and cycling sections. At Edmondscote, juniors and adults can train for competition or personal fitness; the cycling section runs summer road time trials and hill climbs. The athletics roll of honour includes Paralympian Bob Matthews and international distance runner Sue Harrison. Prospective members should contact the relevant section, which has its own website and enquiry address.
