About Kilkenny Triathlon Club
Kilkenny Triathlon Club launched in January 2011 after local participants in the city’s first triathlon decided they wanted a club to train and race with. Based in Kilkenny, Ireland, it brings together newcomers and experienced triathletes for swimming, cycling and running, with social events and club races alongside the training programme.
Runs use Kilkenny Castle Park in spring and summer and the Watershed in autumn and winter. Pool swimming also takes place at the Watershed, with seasonal open-water sessions at locations chosen for conditions and water quality. The programme includes combined bike-and-run practice and strength work. Current joining rules require members to be at least 18, with membership processed through Triathlon Ireland; beginners should check the published swimming prerequisites before booking.
