About Keswick AC
Keswick Athletic Club grew from a small training group in Keswick, Cumbria, England, making its first race appearance at the Musbury Tor Relay in 1974. David Ellison helped organise the early club, and its history records Kenny Stuart and Billy Bland running in Keswick colours. Those are historical associations: Bland later joined Borrowdale.
Fell running remains central, alongside road, trail and cross-country. Competitive teams share the club with runners who chiefly value company and time outdoors. Tuesday sessions run throughout the year, while winter activity includes strength and conditioning and additional training. Skills sessions have covered navigation, descending and scree.
The leisure centre is a usual meeting point, not the start of every run. Members use Stack for session details, and visitors or prospective members can request temporary access. A women's social group explores local roads, trails and fells. Contact the club before trying a session so the route and group suit your experience.
