About Jersey Spartan AC
Jersey Spartan Athletic Club was formed in 1978 after four islanders returned from a Swiss mountain race and decided to start a running club. The name reflected their modest resources. The opening of the FB Fields athletics track in 1987 gave the club a permanent home in St Clement, Jersey, followed by a clubhouse in late 1999 after local fundraising.
The club grew into a volunteer-led athletics organisation covering sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, endurance, road running and cross-country. It became a registered charity in 2019. Coaching and competition include island events and opportunities to travel to the UK, with groups ranging from Minis to masters.

Track groups train at FB Fields, while the detailed road-running programme lists Tuesday sessions by the Freedom Tree at Elizabeth Marina and a monthly 5K at West Park.
