About Isle Of Man Veterans AC
Isle of Man Veteran Athletes' Club supports masters athletics on the Isle of Man, with running and race walking prominent in its programme. Its British Masters Athletic Federation affiliation provides members with a route into British, European and world masters championship events. It should not be described as an English club simply because an older directory grouped it under a north-west region.
The club organises the Isle of Man Marathon and Half Marathon, the End to End Walk and the Syd Quirk Half Marathon Run and Walk. Its calendar also includes handicap running and walking events at the National Sports Centre in Douglas and a veterans' mile. These are event locations, not evidence of one permanent clubhouse or weekly training base.
Prospective members can use the published membership form or contact the membership secretary. The club asks applicants for proof of age for veteran membership; some advertised events are also open to other senior adults. Volunteering at club races offers another way to contribute, alongside taking part in competition.
