About Hook Runners
Hook Runners was founded in October 2016 in Hook, Hampshire, England. Its community combines experienced competitors with people taking their first steps into running. Members train together, support each other at races and contribute locally through charity fundraising, litter picking and helping at community events.
The main training sessions start by Hook Community Centre, with coached activity on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Social runs add further opportunities during the week, including outings on Hampshire trails. Newcomers can contact the club to arrange a trial and should check the latest session details before attending.
Since 2017 the Absolute Beginners Club has offered a ten-week introduction to running, building towards five kilometres without requiring a particular finishing time. Two coached sessions and an independent weekend run lead towards a graduation parkrun. Established members can enjoy a monthly handicap, club championship and local cross-country events, while the club's social side helps new runners remain involved after their first course.
