About Herts Phoenix AC
Herts Phoenix Athletic Club serves athletes from two Hertfordshire bases in England: Wodson Park in Ware and Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City. It was created by bringing together Verlea AC and Hertford and Ware AC, preserving connections with several earlier local athletics clubs.
Coaches cover track and field, cross-country, road running and race walking, with activity ranging from sportshall athletics to masters competition. Summer outdoor athletics is complemented by winter cross-country, road and indoor opportunities. The National Athletics League's club history records entry to the UK Women's Athletics League in 2005 and the British Athletics League in 2018.
Olympic sprinter Jodie Williams is among the athletes associated with the club in that league history. This is a historical connection, not confirmation of current membership. The club's online membership system offers age-specific, student, senior and second-claim options, subject to approval. New athletes should confirm the appropriate coach and venue before attending, since Ware and Welwyn Garden City are separate training bases.
