About Hereford Triathlon Club
Hereford Triathlon Club was formed in 1988 after a local triathlon the previous year sparked interest in the sport. Its first club race followed in 1990. Based in Hereford, Herefordshire, England, it brings swimming, cycling and running together through a volunteer-run programme rather than treating each discipline as a separate club.
Published training includes pool swimming at Hereford Leisure Pool, running and cycle outings, summer open-water activity and seasonal cycling options. The pool and Hereford Leisure Centre are different facilities: the latter appears in the programme through parkrun, not as the venue for every swim or run. Members should check the current session details before attending.
The club asks members to help marshal one of its events, supporting the volunteer effort that funds coaching. Swimming sessions require an ability to cover 400 metres front crawl, without a stated minimum speed. Membership is mainly for adults, but sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds may participate under the published supervision conditions. Contact the club to discuss eligibility, membership and the right first session.
